What does a session with me look like?

My approach is to start off slow and getting comfortable in the new environment. As a mental health nurse as well, I understand how important to be aware of your body and how it can affect the health of your mind. I want to be what you want me to be whether it is to give you advice, to help you make changes in your life or to just listen to your problems. We would start off by asking questions about the individual's thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences to gain a better understanding of what's going on and help you gain insight of your situation. I can provide you guidance and support to help you work through your challenges and improve your mental health and well-being.

My Approach

I take a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on the mind-body connection and the role that lifestyle factors such as nutrition, exercise, and sleep play in mental health. I believe that true healing comes from addressing the root causes of our challenges, rather than just treating the symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Identifying and understanding the relationships between our thoughts, feelings and physical reactions can allow changes of adverse behaviours. Taking the first step to disrupt negative patterns, can allow you to develop the skills to coping in a healthier manner.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness involves focusing the attention on the here and now with a non-judgemental attitude. It helps you become open and accepting to your present experience in order to develop tolerance for difficult feelings expressed by you or others in your life.

Emotions-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Focusing on making space for your emotions and helping you understand the importance of your emotions, can allow for emotional transformation and more self-awareness, and connect to those around you.

Solutions-Focused Therapy (SFT)

This goal-directed, collaborative approach is centered around the idea that you can create positive change in your life by addressing your current problems and providing solutions tailored to your lifestyle. Together, we will develop strength-based solutions to alleviate your problems.
